The Challenge
The homeowner had lived with an ageing asbestos garage at the rear of his property for years. He had wanted it gone for a long time but, understandably, was cautious about who to trust with asbestos as he put it, “you can’t be too careful these days.”
The structure was a timber-framed garage, clad in asbestos cement panels to the walls and corrugated asbestos cement sheeting to the roof. Years of weathering had left it in poor condition: cracked and damaged panels, a leaning gable, and heavy vegetation growing over and through the building.
Before - As can be seen, the garage was old and posing a hazard to the homeowner with the structure damaged.
The Work
After the homeowner made an enquiry for a free quote, Remion arranged a site visit to assess the work, explain the process clearly, and follow up with a written quotation.
Remion completed the removal, working to the appropriate control measures throughout:

Controlled wetting and hand tools used to keep the AC sheets intact and suppress fibre release

Suitable RPE and protective clothing worn for the duration of the work

Asbestos cement components removed whole wherever possible, then double-wrapped and sealed for disposal

Surrounding vegetation cleared to allow safe, controlled access

After - A full removal and decontamination was completed on site. Leaving the homeowner with a clean and safe useable space again.
